Trentino and the Dolomites in Italy
The province of Trento, also referred to as Trentino, is a province in the North of Italy. This province comprises 223 comunities, the Italian comuni. The capital of the province is Trento, a city with more than 100.000 inhabitants. The most important valleys in the Trentino are the Val di Non, Val di Sole, Vallagarina, Val di Fiemme, Bassa Valsugana e Tesino, Alto Garda e Ledro... Most of the province territory is mountainous. However, the Trentino is particularly known for theĀ Dolomite mountains. The most known mountains in the Trentino are the Monte Bondone, the Paganella, the Marzola and the Monte Calisio. Several popular resorts are located in the Trentino: Madonna di Campiglio, Moena, Cavalese, Riva del Garda etc. Also popular thermal stations as for example Levico Terme, Comano Terme and Roncegno are situated in Trentino.
