Daniel Study and the End Times
In preparation for the new Daniel Study we watched an End Times DVD from Always Be Ready Apologetics Ministries. Charlie Campbell, from ABR Ministries was speaking on the topic of ten prophecies in scripture which are yet to be fulfilled. There are prophecies in Daniel regarding the end times, as well as in Revelation and other books in scripture, but most importantly the message comes across that God has sent His Son to save us from the Tribulation. All we need to do is believe and receive as set out in the Gospel. The Daniel Study begins this Sunday (11th May) and we are looking forward to learning about who Daniel was and how this book affects us today. To order CD's contact us using this form.

Benefits of a Weekend Away
We have just returned from our women's retreat weekend where we enjoyed a time of worship, teaching and fellowship in the beautiful surroundings of the Boys Brigade House in Larbert. Our theme for the weekend was 'Everlasting' - all about God's everlasting attributes including life, protection, strength, hope etc. The men's retreat will be taking place later this year as men from several churches join together for their weekend away. There are many benefits to be gained from taking time away as groups of women, men, youth etc to focus on the Lord away from normal life situations. Often the most important benefits are the opportunity for people to have quiet time spending longer periods of time that normal praying and seeking God's will for their lives, as well as the chance to be ministered to, prayed for and share with others without the pressure of having to leave to take care of things that normally demand our attention. The men's and women's ministries here at Calvary are an important part of the church, recognising that men need to have time with other men, and women with other women in order to encourage and build each other up. Homefellowships offer the opportunity for men and women to meet together in small groups to worship the Lord and fellowship together too.

Testimony of an Extremely Successful Businessman
Powerful, inspiring, challenging, encouraging are just a few words to describe the testimony of Peter Benn. In his successful career and business Peter never forsook his integrity of biblical principles, putting God first in his choices after becoming a Christian. Hear it online here... Also new on the website is a translation tool from Altavista which means each page can be translated into any language.

Timeless Message in a World of Change
Earlier this week I read an article about the internet becoming obsolete within the next few years. The Grid is to replace the internet which is only around fifteen years old. With all the changes going on around us I am comforted to know that the gospel message remains the same. The Bible is as relevant today as it was when it was written and is more widely available to us in a variety of forms. Many Bible study resources are now online with not just one version of God's Word, but several versions. We are particularly blessed at Calvary Christian Fellowship, Motherwell as David preaches through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, impacting, inspirating encouraging and exhorting all who hear him whether live, online, or through a CD, MP3 or DVD. These studies are very much alive and relevant for the world in which we live today.

Prayer and the Church
Prayer is a vital part of any growing church and Calvary Motherwell provides several opportunities for prayer throughout the week. More information on these meetings is available here. We have seen many answers to prayer throughout the life of the church. Both personal and corporate prayer has been and continues to be a great support to the ongoing work of the church. Recently we have been blessed with the Lord's provision through grants, fundraising events and the generous giving of our congregation towards repairs required on the roof of the church building itself, and much of the ongoing work which includes sending out Teaching CD's free of charge every week. We do believe that if God guides He will provide, and we can testify to the fact that this has indeed been the case, and continues to be the case to this day.
