Jose Bautista

Right fielder Jose Bautista was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays from the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 21, 2008.

He led the major leagues in home runs in 2010 and 2011. He has won two Hank Aaron Awards and two Silver Slugger Awards, and has appeared in four MLB All-Star Games. He has been named the American League Player of the Week three times and has been the Player of the Month on five different occasions.

In 2011, Jose Bautista signed a 5 year / $65 million contract with the Blue Jays. He has a base salary this season for $14 million.

Edwin Encarnacion
31-year-old Edwin Encarnacion is the Blue Jays first baseman and designated hitter. Born in La Romana, Dominican Republic, he stands 6 ft 1 in and weighs 230 pounds.

Encarnacion, along with right-handed pitchers Josh Roenicke and Zach Stewart, was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for Scott Rolen on July 31, 2009.

Last season, Encarnacion had a .272 average, 36 home runs, and 104 RBI. This season, he hit 16 home runs in May and was named AL player of the month.

Encarnacion's base salary last year was $8 million, this year is $9 million and next year $10 million.

Jose Reyes
The Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes is a four-time MLB All-Star. He led MLB in triples in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2011. Reyes also led the National League in stolen bases in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He was the NL batting champion in 2011.

On November 19, 2012, Reyes was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays along with Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, John Buck, and Emilio Bonifacio from the Miami Marlins, in exchange for Jeff Mathis, Adeiny Hechavarria, Henderson Álvarez, Yunel Escobar, Jake Marisnick, Anthony DeSclafani, and Justin Nicolino.

Jose Reyes has a 6 year / $106 million contract. His base salary for 2012 and 2013 was $10 million, for the current season is $14 million and for 2015, 2016 and 2017 $22 million.

Brett Lawrie
Brett Lawrie
24-year-old Brettt Lawrie plays second and third base for the Blue Jays. He was selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. On December 6, 2010, Lawrie was traded to the Jays for starting pitcher Shaun Marcum.

Lawrie who was born in Langley BC, was a member of the Canadian Junior National Team at the 2008 World Junior Baseball Championship where he led the tournament with a .469 batting average, 3 home runs and 16 RBI. He was also selected to play for Canada at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Adam Lind
30-year-old Adam Lind is the Jays first baseman and designated hitter. He was drafted in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2004 Major League Baseball amateur draft and was signed on June 30, 2004. Lind was named 2006 Eastern League MVP, playing for the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

In 2010, Lind signed a contract extension that saw him earn $400,000 in the 2010 season, with a $600,000 signing bonus, and $5 million per season for 2011, 2012 and 2013. The Blue Jays have yearly options of $7 million for 2014 (or buy out the contract for $2 million), $7.5 million for 2015 (or $1.5 million buyout), and $8 million for 2016 (or $500,000 buyout).
