Flu Shots

Flu shots are becoming available around the US today.  Seniors, teachers and health care workers most assuredly need these shots.  The H1N1 Swine Flu shots will become available in October.

You may check your pharmacy for dates and times that are posted in a high-traffic area so that the schedule may be found easily.

Take care of yourself this flu season.  Remember to wash hands frequently and sneeze into the crook of your arm to avoid spread of contamination.  If you're sick, stay home from school or work.  Work and school can wait while you get well.

For Psychic Readers: Reading for Sunday, August 30th, 2009

This is for psychic readers who need a little reminder of why they've been given the gift of being able to help people through their gift from Spirit.  This is from the Psychic Tarot, Card 2 of Spirit.

You've worked hard to set things in motion in certain areas of your life, and you're now waiting for the results to come to fruition.  The number 2 is all about choice and decision.  In the past, you may have been afraid of making decisions or choices, but now you're no longer held prisoner by this fear or the constraints of old beliefs.  Expect the best and be open to the limitless power of your intuition, which is presently very strong - trust and use it to assist you.

Achievement and success are assured, but once obtained, don't let it change you - remember who you are, the effort that it took to get you to this point, and the gratitude you need to show to the people who helped you.  Stay on your spiritual path, for it will continue to guide you on the journey of your soul.

This is not for every psychic reader, but the one(s) who forget that love is the key to your spiritual gift(s).  It's not you who has been given this gift, but Spirit.  Use your gift wisely.  Always thank the people who help you with your web space or web site, who help you with building your clientele, people who have given of their time, talent and gift to help you do your work.  It is ethically your responsibility to do so.  "Ethical"  readers gave an obligation that goes farther than the actual reading; "ethical" reading is a responsibility that you do in every single area of your life.  Steer clear of lies, hatefulness, gossiping, backbiting, lest your gift be taken from you.

Heed this warning, much that is given, the more that is expected.  A day of meditation would be good for you this wonderful summer day to clear yourself of negative energies and thoughts.  Your gift will be waiting to be used for love, light and peace.

Sabbat of Lughnasadh (Lammas) - August 1st

This is the Grain Harvest. If you planted wheat in the spring, then you can ritually cut it with a scythe or crescent-shaped knife to make solar discs (Brigid’s cross). Dry cornhusks and help the kids to fashion an American corn dolly.

Lugh is the Celtic deity of light and wisdom whose holiday seems largely lost. Lugh is called the “many skilled” and “inventor” or all arts,” including magic and warfare. He is the guardian of roads, travelers, moneymaking, and commerce. He is the god who governs social contracts, like handfastings.

Making a special loaf of bread to eat at ritual is symbolic of the sacrifice of the god as he is being transformed into the abundance of the harvest. Find a recipe with many grains and nuts. It’s very important to share what we have, produce from our garden or dry goods for you local food pantry.

This is definitely a day for outdoor ritual. Hold an art festival or invite neighbors to play volleyball and arrange sack races along with plenty of singing and dancing. Outline your ritual space with cornhusks, baked fresh corn in the ritual cakes, and serve berry pies, oat scones, or barley cakes.

Welcome to Dramoor's Garden Blog!

Merry Meet!

Today's energy feels great here down South and I want to welcome each and every one of you to my first ring, Wiccan Friends.  All Wiccans and Pagans are welcome to join.  If you classify yourself as a psychic, we have a process to verify your claim and  with certain criteria to be met.  We wouldn't be good stewards if we didn't protect our readers and clients.

Today's herb lesson is Bay leaf.  The Oracle at Delphi ate a Bay leak before expounding her wisdom.  The tree was sacred to Apollo.  The roof of the Temple at Delphi was made of Bay leaves.  The shape of the Bay leaf can be found in Greek and Roman architecture.

Bay leave are known in the medicinal herb trade as a soothing, sedating and suppressant herb.  A decoction added your bath water will relieve aching limbs and help you relax after a long day.

A traditional tea of Bay leaves known as "Italian Grandmother's Cure" was used to calm colicky babies.  It is good for anyone who has a gassy or upset stomach.  Email me for the recipe!

Looking forward to meeting as many members as we can.  Drop me a line at my email address, if you need more information or just want to chat.

Blessed Be!
