June 11: Busy Monday
The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, p. 103 124.8 miles hot 74 recordings of 21 types. 55% clear. You are not special. I love it! Bernadette had a dental appointment today, so I called the cleaners and asked that they not come till the afternoon, and off I went to babysit. It was a quiet day and pleasant. I finished my story* on the Nook just before she came home. *Wild, by Cheryl Strayed. I loved it. I started by comparing how she coped with her mother's death to how I handled Rich's. Then there was a good deal of "can't look away from the train wreck" to her efforts to hike the Pacific Coast Trail. I ended up, though, enjoying her prose and her ability to describe her feelings. A real page-turner and I enjoyed it immensely. I got back about half an hour before the cleaners (Jose y Maria today, how Biblical!) came. I sat out on the porch sorting papers. Got quite a bit done. After they left, I started the new puzzle. I have 20 and the catalogs are coming with beautiful beautiful ones. Jigsaw puzzles could be the next "books" if I am not careful. I have so much to do in the next couple of weeks!! DMV, car, maybe doctor, finish the Road Scholar paperwork, order stuff for the garden, order Gabe's birthday present, unicorn shoes... haircut...
