July 5: Jam FAIL!
The Age of Napoleon, p. 457 90.1 miles HOT!! 154 recordings of 70 types. 24% remaining. T-shirt, the mall walks one, the end of the cycle again. The neighborhood near Presentation has flags on all the utility poles. It looks great. Rich seems to feel a little better today. I decided to try plum jam again, as the Raley's magazine had a neat plum-rosemary jam recipe. The last time I tried this (long LONG ago) the stuff didn't jell. It didn't this time either. I cooked for 90 minutes instead of the 60 as in the recipe, but apparently it still wasn't long enough. Oh, well. At least now I have cheesecloth and some new jars. I have to find my taller stock pot and get bigger jars for zucchini pickles. I am sooooo not ready for any cooking competition. My signature dish is, I guess, canned shrimp in cocktail sauce on an avocado half. I'm totally astounded by the Casey Anthony verdict. I guess you can't convict someone for inappropriate behavior. Laramie is having Frontier Days and apparently now has a "Birthday of Freedom" celebration in Washington Park every July 4. President spends 4th in Afghanistan. And by president, I mean the Prime Minister of Great Britain, David Cameron, who visited Camp Leatherneck somewhere in the boonies of Afghanistan. From Prime Minister David Cameron: “It may be a bit odd for a British PM to say happy Fourth of July. Maybe if one of my predecessors hadn’t screwed up so badly, we’d all be one army.” Meanwhile, sad news for our real president, Barack Obama. From Politico: “FORE-TH OF JULY: President Obama didn’t make the first on the Fourth of July – the muggy skies resulted in the president canceling his golf game at Andrews AFB on Monday.” ---mike from nc says: July 5, 2011 at 8:09 AM Can you imagine the active duty and retired military personnel stationed at or living around Andrews AFB who play golf on the weekends who now have to put up with the President hogging tee times for his weekly round of golf.
The next birther step. It's beginning to build up.
