Hall of Fame - Rush

Rush was formed in August 1968, in Willowdale, Toronto. The band is composed of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist and backing vocalist Alex Lifeson, and drummer, percussionist and lyricist Neil Peart. The band and its membership went through a number of re-configurations between 1968 and 1974, achieving their current form when Peart replaced original drummer John Rutsey in July 1974. It has released 20 studio albums and sold more than 40 million units worldwide.

At the Juno's, Rush won Most promising group of the year in 1975; Group of the year in 1978 and 1979; Artist of the Decade in 1990; Best HardRock/Metal album for Presto in 1991; and Hard Rock album of the year for Roll the Bones in 1992. Rush was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994.

The band has strong detractors and an intensely loyal fan base. The 2010 documentary Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage (Trailer) explores the band's influence on popular music and the reasons why that influence has been underrepresented over the years. It won the 2011 Juno for Music DVD of the year.

Rush's latest album Clockwork Angels was recorded in Nashville and Toronto. It was released on June 12, 2012 and debuted at #1 in Canada and at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album's first single was Caravan followed by Headlong Flight (Official Lyric Video)
