Overview
This is an acquisitive Prize. The winning work will become part
of the Caloundra City Collection
Entry fee is $25.00 per artist
The Prize is open to all Australian artists
A pre-selection committee will choose 40 artists to enter a work
for the Prize
The Residency is for 4 weeks at Arley Farm, Maleny
The Residency must be taken with 12 months of the Award
The Sunshine Coast Art Prize is a national contemporary painting and 2D art award. It is an initiative of Caloundra City Council and principal partner Sajen legal.
The winner will receive $15,000 plus a 4 week residency in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to the value of $5,000.
There is also a non-acquisitive people’s choice award valued at $2,500 that will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
The award is open to all Australian artists working in any 2D medium. Participants will be selected from entries submitted to the pre-selection committee.
The exhibition will be held at the Caloundra Regional Art Gallery, from 20 August to 5 October 2007. The winner will be announced at the Gala Launch and Announcement 6.30pm 23 August 2007.
All works in the exhibition will be for sale, and the Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra Inc will deduct a 25% commission from the sale.

Head on Foundation CALL FOR ENTRIES
CALL FOR ENTRIES 2008
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION – Friday 11pm, 28 March 2008
Head on Foundation invites photographers to submit works to the 2008 photographic portrait competition.
Images could range from film to digitally produced using any photographic technique in colour and/or black & white.
Prizes will be awarded for the best 3 images.
Judging will be done anonymously; no identifying detail will be visible by the judges in order to ensure that the selection is not affected by the celebrity of the photographer and or the subject of the photograph.
Further prizes will be awarded to images selected for ‘The Critic’s Choice' and for ‘People’s Choice’.
Finalists’ work will be selected by Sandra Byron, Byron-McMahon Gallery director, Stephen Dupont, multi award winning photographer and Moshe Rosenzveig, Head On curator. The ‘Critic's Prize’ will be selected by Robert McFarlane, the Sydney Morning Herald photography critic.
Total value of prizes is approximately $32,000. Prizes for Head On 2008 are as follows:

The allocation of prizes is wholly at the discretion of Head On.
Head On finalists will be exhibited at the Australian Centre for Photography, Sydney 1 May - 7 June 2008 and then at the M16 Artspace, Canberra 9 - 22 July 2008 as part of Vivid National Photography Festival.
Copyright and moral rights for all entries are retained by the photographer.
Head On, now in its fifth year, has established itself as one of Australia's major photographic portrait exhibitions. It is committed to advancing photography as a popular art form and to support photographers from all genres through its exhibition and the newly established fund supported by Orient Capital.
