Porsche 959



The Porsche 959 was manufactured by Porsche from 1986 to 1989. In 1986, it held the title as the world's fastest street-legal production car. During its production run, it was hailed as the most technologically advanced road-going sports car ever built and the forerunner of all future super cars. It was one of the first high-performance vehicles to use an all-wheel drive system.

Porsche 944



The Porsche 944 is an entry level sports car that was officially introduced in 1983. It replaced the Porsche 924 and in turn was replaced by the Porsche 968 in 1991. The 944 underwent quite a few changes, especially with the engine. Various models were introduced in the 944 series including the 944S, the 944 Turbo, and the 944S2. The 944 has a 2.5 L engine with 4-cylinders and can produce about 174 Horsepower.

Porsche 928



The Porsche 928, produced 19771995, became Porsche's flagship model and was pushed as the Ultimate Grand Tourer of its time. The 928 was a V8 GT styled by Anatole Lapine in a front engined layout similar to the 924. The 928 was very luxurious internally and was still capable of 140mph and 0-60 in the region of 6.5 seconds from its 234bhp engine.

Porsche 924



The Porsche 924, produced 19761988, originated as a contract design by Porsche for Volkswagen, based mainly on readily available parts from VW. The car was to be the VW Type 477, however, VW chose to cancel plans late in the project for financial reasons. Porsche then bought the rights to the design for $60 million and produced the car, having VW assemble the cars at its Audi plant in Neckarsulm.

1976 Porsche 912E



The original Porsche 912 was manufactured by Porsche of Germany between 1965 and 1969. After a six-year absence, the 912 was re-introduced to North America as the 1976 model year 912E (internal factory designation 923) which shared the "G-Series" bodywork with the 911S. The 912E was powered by an 86bhp 2.0 L Volkswagen air-cooled engine. During the production run of May 1975 to July 1976, Porsche manufactured nearly 2,100 of the 912E, targeted to the U. S. market.
