Hall of Fame - Bryan Adams

Bryan Adams was born in Kingston, Ontario. He grew up traveling around the world with his parents eventually settling in Vancouver.

Adams' self-titled debut album was released in February 1980, and marked the beginning of what was to become a long songwriting partnership between Adams and co-writer Jim Vallance. His third album Cuts Like A Knife landed in the Top 10 in 1983. This was soon followed by his #1 charting release Reckless which was the first Canadian album to sell a million copies in Canada. In total, Bryan Adams has made ten studio albums, five compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, four live albums and sixty-seven singles.

Adams has won 20 Juno Awards among 56 nominations and 15 Grammy Award nominations. He has also won MTV, ASCAP, and American Music awards. In addition, he has won two Ivor Novello Awards for song composition and has been nominated three times for Academy Awards for his songwriting for films.

Bryan Adams was the 2006 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The previous year he had released the 2-disc compilation Anthology. The 36 tracks included Summer of ‘69, Run to You, 18 ‘Til I Die, and (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, which had spent 16 consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart (the longest in British chart history).

Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado was born in Victoria, BC. She moved to Toronto after high school and released her first album Whoa Nelly in 2000 when she was 21. The album was an international success and included the single "I'm like a Bird". her follow-up album Folklore was less commercially successful.

Furtado's 3rd album Loose has sold sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and was the best-selling album of 2006–2007. Eight singles were released from the album, including "Promiscuous" "Say It Right", "Maneater" and "All Good Things (Come to an End)".

Nelly Furtado hosted the 2007 Juno Award's in Saskatoon. At the ceremony she won in five categories: Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Juno Fan Choice Award, Pop Album of the Year and Single of the Year.

Her first English-language studio album since Loose, The Spirit Indestructible is set for release September 18, 2012.

The Light That Guides You Home

Jim Cuddy is a founding member of Blue Rodeo, the Toronto band that in 2012 was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Cuddy has released 3 solo albums, including The Light That Guides You Home which won the 2007 Juno for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. All the songs were written by Cuddy and the album was certified gold in Canada. The 3 singles from the album were Pull Me Through, Maybe Sometime and Married Again (with Ottawa singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards)

Billy Talent II

Billy Talent II was the third studio album by the Mississauga, Ontario band Billy Talent. When it was released in June 2006, the album debuted at #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart. It also debuted at number 1 in Germany but was not successful in the U.S.

In April 2007, the album won a Juno Award for best rock album of the year and the band was named group of the year. Devil in a Midnight Mass was nominated for single of the year but lost out to Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado.

The band toured for 20 months in support of the album in 12 legs: 4 North American legs (with some Canadian dates), 5 European legs, 2 short exclusively Canadian legs, and 1 short Australian leg. In Europe they appeared in England, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Universal Music Canada 2005

Hedley was formed by Jacob Hoggard in Abbotsford, BC. with 4 friends. After Hoggard came in third in Canadian Idol the other original members were replaced.

Hedley's self-titled debut album was certified double platinum in Canada. The six singles released from the album were On My Own, Villain, Trip, 321, Gunnin', and Street Fight. The videos for On My Own, Trip, 321, and Gunnin' all reached #1 on the MuchMusic countdown.

The album was Juno nominated for "Rock Album of the Year" but lost to Nickelback's 8x Platinum All The Right Reasons.
