You never know why...
There was an election this Monday past (the 26th) for the local government in Trinidad. I got my polling card in the mail and was preparing to go out and get my finger stained, but you know what? I got sick Saturday morning and I couldn't manage to go out on Monday. I'm still recovering right now. The thing is that they know whether you voted or not, and it would have been the second time I had cast a ballot.
Honestly, I used to say that I didn't want to vote because that was just saying that you are not good enough to handle your own affairs and you needed someone to run them. I am capable of making my own decisions and such, but when I saw what took place in the last administration and how they could get away with such a wastage of our resources I started to think that if I went out and voted it would inspire others to vote too. That and my mammy made me go that first time. :)
I stupidly broke my fast a few days ago when I sampled some pelau that my father had in the refrigerator. I don't know what made me do it. Anyhow, I don't feel the urge or temptation now, so I should be able to keep it up for a long time once again. Eating such food made me put on muscle mass and thence there was significant "weight" gain. I'm supposed to be losing mass and the dietitian will probably be harsh next time around.
My oldest sister and my niece will be visiting us soon for a few weeks. They will fly in over the weekend and we'll catch up and so on. They're coming for a puja and other things. I plan to give them a disc with the family pictures I scanned recently. My niece was such a cute toddler but she's a teenager now so she might not be interested in my video games and books anymore. I doubt that she'll want me to draw things for her again. My mammy had quite a time cleaning up the rooms downstairs for them.
The workers are finishing up the iron railing with the painting process now and they will get the job for the back stairs' railing too. After the roof and ceiling are both done, I will get my wardrobe replaced. My father said that he'll replace the louvres with windows and install air-conditioning throughout the house, but I don't know if that's a surety. My mammy intends to get the cupboards built anew by her cousin and he'll also do my wardrobe.
My pictures are still in the camera and I might get around to organizing and updating my websites around the beginning of next month (August). I have quite a few appointments scheduled for next month too. To ease some of the stress I'll get some new audio CD's from the shop.

Site update, shaving issues
I added calendars to my Raven site http://myravensite.100webspace.net/
On Tuesday my father asked me to check out a battery which he had just bought - he wasn't sure if his electric razor had a fault or if the battery was no good. When I checked my razor I was in for a shock. The installed battery (Duracell AAA) had leaked and damaged my Gillette razor! The battery compartment was cracked and could no longer maintain contact with a battery to draw power. I just decided to get a new one whenever and save the razor cartridge (expensive!). In the meantime I used a Revlon electric shaver to get the hair mass down and then a disposable Gilette razor for the clean shave.
On Wednesday I had to go for my regular visit to the regional Health Centre. We saw my ex-sister in law with her seven month old baby girl; they had come for standard infant vaccinations as she had missed one or two. She gave me a high-five (her version of it) and smiled all the time. I didn't catch her name though. Afterwards I learnt that they gave her four shots - two on each arm. Poor baby had to feel pain for her safety and she let it all out when she came out of the room.
Michelle said that her brother (my former brother-in-law) had opened a radiator and got burned pretty badly with the hot water. His mother couldn't even recognize him when she saw him in the hospital. His face and body now has terrible scars and is somewhat discoloured. Despite the past, he started back talking to my father just last year or so. My older brother wouldn't give him the time of day and he refused to have anything to do with him.
I asked my brother about my younger sister's notebook PC and he told me the specs he configured and ordered. It's a Core i5 quad core processor at 2.4GHz, either 3 or 4 Gb of R.A.M., 1 Gb video memory (ATI Radeon HD), a 500 Gb 7200 r.p.m. hard drive and other things (wireless adapter, bluetooth, etc.). It's running Windows 7 too. It's a Dell Studio XPS but it didn't have a remote controller. I have a remote controller (I-R) for my HP Pavilion and I use it for playing music while I lie down on my bed. I can even put it on hibernate when I'm finished and I don't have to get up.
I have to go next week for my identification card renewal and more than likely my mammy will tell me to shave again. When we come back I plan to buy a new pair of shoes, a 8Gb USB pen drive and two ink cartridges for my printer. My mammy bought me three jerseys too so I can get rid of some of my "holy raiment" now.
I hope that the workers will be finished with the ironwork in the gallery by then. They have to clean and paint the railing now and that should take them a day if they come soon. The head honcho is supposed to tell my father the price this time around.

Site update, PS2 trouble
I added new food and scenery photographs to two of my sites, http://vijay.verwalten.ch/ and http://vijay.5gigs.net My Playstation 2 is giving trouble to read discs now, so I cannot watch DVD's and play games any more with it. I don't know if I'll trade it in for a new one or get it repaired, and a PS3 doesn't run PS2 games so getting one is a no-no. I have a few games and I haven't finished any of them completely yet so I might get a new console sometime soon. If you happened to notice, I started eating eggs and fish again so I can't say that I'm a strict vegetarian any more. At least I'll resume fasting from meat (and so forth) soon and I hope that I'm not pressured afterward to resume consuming such foods like I was this time. Since I resumed I've gained weight in muscle mass as I also use the step and light weights. I'm supposed to be losing weight since I've adopted the advice of a dietitian but I seem to be putting on muscle mass too quickly since resuming the eating of meat. There's a chicken salami and turkey pastrami in the freezer and they have to be used up before next midweek. I don't have much choice in the matter. My younger sister got a top-of-the-line notebook PC for her birthday but she only got it a few days ago. It's too heavy and valuable to take to campus so my father and older brother didn't choose wisely when making the order from Canada. She doesn't really get along with me but I helped her out yesterday nevertheless when she couldn't figure out how to connect to the wireless router and my second sister's friend couldn't either (he's a technician). I knew about these things but they'll never ask me for help. At least she said "thanks" to me after I solved her problem. So far, all I know is that it is a Dell Studio XPS with a Core i5 processor and it cost a wallop. I had a bit of trouble recently with my own notebook PC, a HP Pavilion. I wanted to get more free space so I removed one of my administrator accounts with redundant installations and started a fresh standard account in its place. When I tried to sign in, it gave the "User Profiler Service cannot logon" error for Vista. After checking around the Internet, I read people's experiences and found a solution and now the problem no longer exists. At least the error resulted in finding out how useful the error reports can be in Windows and I learned something new today. My father just went out with the fishermen again and he'll stay overnight in the sea. Tonight there's Battlestar Galactica on local TV too. I'm having wheat bran cereal with low-fat milk this evening.

Site update
I got up this morning at three A.M. (GMT -4:00) and had two chicken bologna & cheese sandwiches and went back to sleep. When I got back up at seven fifteen I felt very angry and for some reason I hated everyone in the household at that moment.
I wasn't hungry as I already had breakfast but my father was just doing something at the cupboard and I got agitated that he was standing there. When he moved my sisters then occupied the kitchen and I was steaming. They don't talk to me and they are always putting themselves in my way. I stayed in my room and stood looking in the mirror.
I was enraged for some reason or the other. My mammy came and asked what was wrong and I said that nothing was wrong but she knew that I was angry. At that point in time I even felt that I hated her too despite the fact that she is the only one who talks freely with me and helps me out. I help out in every way that I can too, but my conditions severely limit what I can do to help her. She has to do everything in the house and she gets stressed out. My father does little things but he is lackadaisical. He doesn't want to fix the fence, the driveway, and so forth and what he does on a daily basis is very irritating to everyone especially my mum. He just sits and watches old Indian movies (Bollywood) on pirated DVD's and plays the volume very loudly and occasionally he gets up to hit the roof outside which is infested with pigeons. He uses a PVC pipeline to do that and he destroyed part of the ceiling doing that. Most of the time, however, when he is not carrying me or my mum to some appointment, he goes out to lime and drink alcohol with deadbeats.
My father is retired and he decided to fix the roof via a contractor. We also had to do the railing and the workers my brother got for that really played us. They come once a month more or less and once they did shoddy work so now the replacements that the boss sent have to undo and fix what they did. In the meantime the rain wets the iron and it rusts while they don't come to finish up. We can't start the roof in the rainy season too.
Anyhow, my mum went downstairs to put some towels to wash and when she came back she asked me if I ate and took my medication. I lied and said yes but she went and picked two large "five fingers" fruits for me (carambolas). Even when I feel like hating her for little things, she still loves me. So I got up and decided to use my notebook PC. I touched up pages (street fighter and yu-gi-oh!) which looked horrible and I did a little update for my raven site. Now I feel much better and whatever eating that meat did to me is now gone.
I didn't want to start eating fish, eggs and chicken again but my mum kept urging me to. It's only for a few more days anyhow and I hope that I don't have to eat that ever again after we resume fasting. -Vijay....
