Anglican Consultative Council
The Lambeth Conference of 1968 established the Anglican Consultative Council under the presidency of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Â The council, composed of 60 representatives from every part of the Anglican Communion who meet every two to three years, is intended to supply guidance on policy matters of importance to the Communion, to forward ecumenical relations, and to provide cooperation in missionary work.
The Council operates the Anglican Communion News Service as part of their mandate to promote better communication within the Communion.

Diocese of B.C. May Close 14 Churches
The Diocese of British Columbia which covers Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands may close 14 of its 52 churches over the next 18 months because of declining attendance.
Last year the Diocese commissioned a team to evaluate the state of its churches. It released its report January 26 which will be voted on at the Synod meeting in March. The report also recommends that 5 other parishes be disestablished, renamed and become 'hub churches' with their ranks swelled by parishioners moving from the closed churches.
At a press conference, Bishop James Cowan said that parish churches need at least 150 members to stay alive, and the churches recommended for closing do not have that many.
In 2005, Keith McKerracher, commissioned by the Anglican Church of Canada to prepare a report for the House of Bishops, said the Anglican church in Canada was 'one generation from extinction,' citing an annual decrease of 12,836 practising Anglicans.
