detail from The Adoration of the Magi

Flemish painter, Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) painted The Adoration of the Magi more often than any other episode from the life of Christ. Shown is detail from The Adoration of the Magi (1617-18) now in the Museum Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lyon, France.

Matthew 2:11 (NIV) - On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
